Popular Science: Beer Machine aka "The Device"

September 2007 issue (dead tree version) page 81 has an article about a guy, John Carnett, who built his own little extract brewery on a cart or two. I've seen similar setups from time to time. Keg for boiling the wort, another keg for the fermenter, two soda kegs for the final fermentation/serving, and a cold plate to chill the beer before it hits the tap which is built in. There are temp controllers and heat exchangers. All in all not too shabby. I don't have a link to an online version. It took $4,315 to make it over three months.

Not sure how Pop Sci integrates their dead tree content with their website, but in the section to watch is How 2.0.
