Today's Insightful Thought

From Monty Python's Final Ripp-Off: Excerpt from Bruces skit

Immanuel Kant was a real pissant
Who was very rarely stable,
Heidegger, Heidegger was a boozy begger
Who could think you under the table,
David Hume could out-consume,
Wilhelm Freidrich Hegel.
And Wittgenstein was a beery swine
Who was just as schloshed as Schlegel.
There's nothing Nietzche couldn't teach ya
'Bout the raising of the wrist.
Socrates himself was permanently pissed.

John Stuart Mill, of his own free will
On half a pint of shandy was particularly ill.
Plato, they say could stick it away,
Half a crate of whiskey everyday.
Aristotle, Aristotle was a bugger for the bottle,
Hobbes was fond of his dram,
And René DesCartes was a drunken fart
"I drink, therefore I am."
Yes, Socrates himself is particularly missed,
A lovely little thinker but a bugger when he's pissed.

Time for a new batch or two of homebrew!

The last batches were supposed to be session beers. They weren't too far off, but, not below 5% abv. Whats next? Another session?

Well I have two ideas. Remember that stoutenporter I brewed that didn't really turn out? Well I still have some of that around in a 5 gal corny keg. I was talking to Tom F. about it and he said I should try a high gravity yeast to help ferment it out. I think I'm gonna do that :-).

I'm also gonna brew two other batches. One will be a repeat of a strong ale I recently brewed. That'll be for Gavin.

The other? Since I saved the belgian ale yeast, I might go for another Belgian style. This time no wheat malt.

Beer Bits 2

Beer Bits 2, I thought that would be a decent name for my interim site :-) Thanks for stopping by. Not sure what we're gonna have here, but, I thought I might have a thing or two to say from time to time.
